Hello, I’m Johannes Schmidt, Senior Product Manager at Arise.

I oversee digital products and product organizations during phases where strategic ambition must align with operational reality—with the clear goal of significantly reducing time to market and consistently driving the shift from output to outcome.

My background lies in the hands-on development of digital products: data, software, and architecture. A startup of my own nearly 20 years ago, which was not successful, has permanently sharpened my perspective: customer value is not an option, but a prerequisite for economic success. This experience continues to shape my work to this day.

I work where product development comes under structural pressure: When strategy isn’t translated into effective decisions, when organization, architecture, and technology aren’t seamlessly integrated, or when speed and stability need to be rebalanced.

I have worked both within and alongside established organizations such as Otto, IBM, Fielmann, Galeria, XXXLutz, and Intersport, as well as in growth environments like Parship, Statista, Redcare, and, back in the day, StudiVZ.
